Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 4:02 PM MDT Apr. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until midnight MDT
tonight...

* timing... periods of snow will continue into this evening,
moderate to heavy at times.

* Total snow accumulation... accumulations so far range from around
an inch in Riverton to 6 inches over the higher terrain above
5500 feet. Total snowfall expected will range from 3 to 6
inches. However, locally heavier amounts in more persistent snow
bands are possible over the higher terrain.

* Main impact... roads may become slushy to snow covered
especially where heavier snow persists.

* Other impacts... additional rock or mudslides could occur in
the Wind River Canyon. As of 530 am, Highway 287, 789 in
southeast Fremont County, as well as the Wind River Canyon was
closed.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
and slick roads with limited visibilities. Slow down, and allow
extra time to reach your destination. Check the latest Road
conditions at wyoroad.Info or by dialing 5 1 1.
