Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 4:25 AM MDT Apr. 27, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 PM this evening to
midnight MDT Friday night...

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow, which is in effect
from 6 PM this evening to midnight MDT Friday night.

* Timing... rain will change to snow this evening, with moderate
snow expected at times through Friday evening.

* Total snow accumulations... 4 to 6 inches.

* Winds/visibility... west to northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with
gusts to 35 mph tonight, diminishing and becoming northeast on
Friday. Visibility will be reduced to less than one mile in
snow and blowing snow.

* Impacts... hazardous travel is likely due to snow covered roads
and low visibility. This includes the Interstate 80 corridor
from Rawlins to Laramie. Heavy snow on fully leafed trees could
cause tree damage, with the possibility of tree branches falling
onto power lines and causing power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
snow and strong winds will create restricted visibilities and
drifting snow along area roadways. Use caution when traveling...
especially in open areas.
