Watches & Warnings

Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 12:02 AM MDT Aug. 28, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this evening
for low humidity... breezy winds... and critically dry fuels for
fire weather zones 140 and 286...

* wind... west to southwest 10 to 15 with frequent gusts to
around25 mph. Slightly higher winds in the Absaroka Mountains
and on ridge tops.

* Humidity... 12 to 17 percent this afternoon and evening.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
