Watches & Warnings

Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 8:18 PM MST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 am MST
Friday...

* timing... snow will continue through Friday morning.

* Total snow accumulations... an additional 1 to 3 inches of snow
is possible tonight. Storm total accumulations are expected to
be 2 to 8 inches in the Laramie valley (lowest near laramie) and
Upper North Platte valley, otherwise 7 to 13 inches in lower
elevations west of the Laramie range. 10 to 15 inches over the
southern and central Laramie range. Up to 2 feet of snow is
expected over the northern Laramie range.

* Winds/visibility... east to northeast winds 10 to 15 mph with
occasional gusts to 25 mph. Visibilities will be reduced to
under one mile at times in falling and blowing snow.

* Impacts... mainly to transportation. Icy and snow packed roads
and low visibilities will lead to extremely dangerous or
impossible travel conditions. Very icy roads are likely across
the area tonight due to wet, slushy snow that froze after sunset.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
