Issued: 9:00 AM MDT Mar. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until 3 PM MDT this
afternoon...

* locations include... Telluride, Ouray, Lake city, Silverton,
Rico, and Hesperus.

* Timing... snow will continue into the afternoon hours. Due to the
convective nature of this event localized moderate to heavy will
be possible at times.

* Snow accumulation... an additional 2 to 4 inches will be
possible. Locally higher amounts are possible in the uncompaghre
gorge in the northwest San Juans through the morning.

* Winds... northerly 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Impacts... some roads will be slick and snowpacked, especially
US-550 through Red Mountain Pass. Additionally, visibilities
will be reduced in snow and blowing snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow and/or
blowing snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving.
