Issued: 2:43 PM MST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 9 am MST
Tuesday...

* locations include the cities of... Durango... Bayfield...
Ignacio... Pagosa Springs.

* Timing... snow will redevelop late this afternoon. Rain may mix
with snow for the lower elevations late this afternoon before
precipitation transitions back to all snow early this evening.
Heaviest accumulations are expected between 6 PM and 3 am
tonight.

* Snow accumulation... 4 to 8 inches with locally higher amounts
east of Highway 550.

* Winds... west at 10 to 20 with gusts over 25 mph.

* Impacts... roadways will become snow packed with winter driving
conditions expected through Tuesday morning. Visibility will be
reduced to less than one half mile at times during the heaviest snowfall.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
