... Significant weather advisory for southwestern Delta and
northeastern Montrose counties until 445 PM MDT...

At 405 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong gust front along
a line extending from near Delta to 21 miles south of Palisade.
Movement was southeast along Highway 50 moving at 45 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this gust front.
Expect blowing dust and difficult driving conditions.

Locations impacted include...
Montrose, Delta, Orchard City, Olathe, Austin and Cory.

This includes the following highways...
U.S. Highway 550 in Colorado between mile markers 128 and 130.
U.S. Highway 50 in Colorado between mile markers 55 and 105.
Colorado 65 between mile markers 1 and 3.
Colorado 90 between mile markers 86 and 89.
Colorado 92 between mile markers 1 and 8, and between mile markers
39 and 55.

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 10 PM MDT this
evening for gusty winds, low humidity and dry fuels for Colorado
fire weather zones 203, 207, 290, 292 and Utah fire weather zones
486, 487, 490 and 491...

* affected area... in Colorado, fire weather zone 203 lower
Colorado River, fire weather zone 207 southwest Colorado lower
forecast area, fire weather zone 290 Paradox Valley forecast
area and fire weather zone 292 North Fork forecast area. In
Utah, fire weather zone 486 eastern Uinta Basin, fire weather
zone 487 Book Cliffs, fire weather zone 490 Colorado River
Basin and fire weather zone 491 southeast Utah.

* Winds... west 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative humidity... 7 to 12 percent.

* Impacts... fire starts could lead to quickly spreading fires
which could be difficult to impossible to control.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
