Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:50 AM MST Dec. 6, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect from 6 PM this evening
to noon MST Wednesday...

* location... Teller and northern El Paso counties including the
cities of Black Forest... Woodland Park... and Monument.

* Cause and timing... light snow will develop across the area this evening.

* Snow accumulation... snow accumulations at the lower elevations
will range from 1 to 3 inches. For Pikes Peak... 4 to 8 inches
of snow is expected.

* Wind... expect east winds at 10 to 15 mph this evening. Winds
will shift to the north and increase to 15 to 25 mph across
northern El Paso County overnight.

* Impact... snow accumulations will be fairly light with this
system... however the snow will combine with gusty winds to
create areas of blowing snow and bitter cold wind chills from 10
to 25 below zero. Travel will be impacted for commuters driving
through northern El Paso County Wednesday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow means that
visibilities will be limited due to strong winds blowing snow
around. Use caution when traveling... especially in open areas. In
addition... be prepared for bitter cold wind chills.
