Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 5:49 PM MDT Aug. 29, 2016 – National Weather Service

... The small stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until 800 PM MDT
for southwestern Weld County...

At 544 PM MDT... a trained weather spotter 9 miles south of Kersey
reported 1.48 inches of rain fell in about 40 minutes. This has
produced minor lowland flooding of fields... and will also cause
small stream flooding. The thunderstorms producing the heavy rain
were shifting southwest through the far southern portions of Weld
County.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Platteville... Riverside Reservoir and Milton Reservoir.

This includes the following streams and drainages... Lost Creek... Box
Elder creek... little Dry Creek... Sanborn Draw and Crow Creek.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... farmland... and other low lying
spots.
