... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 445 PM MDT for
central El Paso County...

At 312 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Two to four inches of rain have
fallen over portions of the black Squirrel Creek basin.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
southeastern Colorado Springs... Schriever AFB... Falcon...
Cimarron Hills and security-Widefield.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos... streams... and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes... even from distant rainfall.

northwestern El Paso County in east central Colorado...

* until 430 PM MDT

* at 305 PM MDT... the public reported that excessive flash flooding
was occuring over the warned area. The storm producing the heavy
rain has weakened, and flash flooding due to the earlier heavy
rain will continue.

* Locations impacted include...
Colorado Springs... Air Force Academy... Cimarron Hills...
stratmoor... Peterson AFB... security...
security-Widefield and Fort Carson.

* Flood Advisory for...
south central El Paso County in east central Colorado...

* until 600 PM MDT

* at 259 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated over two inches of rain
heavy rain fell in the black Squirrel Creek basin upstream of the
advisory area. This will cause minor flooding along black Squirrel
Creek in El Paso County.

* Flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of south central El
Paso County.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... farmland... and other low lying
spots.
