... Coastal Flood Watch remains in effect from late tonight
through Saturday afternoon...

* coastal flooding... water levels may reach 3.8 feet and higher
due to strong winds, long period swells and high surf.

* Timing... 1 am CDT Saturday morning through 4 PM CDT Saturday
afternoon.

* Impacts... water levels may overcome dunes and possibly
overwash low-lying areas and roadways along Bolivar Peninsula,
the west end of Galveston Island, and the Blue Water Highway
near Surfside.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for
flooding are expected to develop. Coastal residents should be
alert for later statements or warnings... and take action to
protect property.
