Watches & Warnings

Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 6:58 PM CDT Mar. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning now in effect until 8 PM CDT this evening for
dry and windy conditions... and high fire danger...

* wind... sustained west to northwest winds at 15 to 25 mph with
gusts to 30 mph

* humidity... 15 to 20 percent

* fuels... dry

* impacts... any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is highly discouraged.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
