Lake Wind Advisory
Issued: 5:08 AM CST Dec. 11, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Lake Wind Advisory will be in effect from 11 am until 6 PM...

* event... a tight pressure gradient will develop today as the
recent cold air mass moves east. Warmer southerly winds of 15 to
25 mph will spread in across all of eastern Texas and Toledo
Bend country.

* Timing... the southerly winds will become gusty by late this
morning and on through this afternoon... subsiding by sunset.

* Impact... gusty southerly winds will make for hazardous boating
conditions on area lakes. Also... a cross wind will affect travel
for large profile vehicles along I-20 from Tyler to Shreveport.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on our lakes. Small boats will be especially prone taking on
water over the stern while anchored or power poling. Also small
craft could capsize if running hard on open water.
