Lake Wind Advisory
Issued: 12:27 AM CDT Apr. 26, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 9 am this morning to 9 PM
CDT this evening for the four state region...

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a lake Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 9 am this morning to 9 PM CDT
this evening due strong and gusty winds.

* Event... a pressure gradient will tighten between surface low
pressure over the Southern Plains and across north to southwest
Texas and surface high pressure over the southeast states,
resulting in strong and gusty winds of 15 to 25 mph with higher
gusts of 25 to 30 mph during the mid morning to early afternoon
Wednesday, with the winds increasing and shifting to west and
northwest 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 to 35 mph during the
afternoon and evening with the passage of a cold front.

* Timing... 9 am CDT to 9 PM CDT Wednesday.

* Impact... boaters should exercise caution on area lakes due to
rough chop conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
