Lake Wind Advisory
Issued: 4:08 AM CDT Mar. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from noon today to 7 PM CDT this
evening...

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a lake Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from noon today to 7 PM CDT this
evening.

* Event... south to southeast wind speeds of 15 to 20 mph with
gusts up to 30 mph will commence early this afternoon, courtesy
of a deepening surface low pressure system in the Lee of rockies
promoting a tightened pressure gradient.

* Timing... from noon to 7 PM CDT.

* Impact... winds will likely produce rough chop on area lakes
and open waterways, which may be hazardous to boaters.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
