* at 200 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated and trained spotters
verified that heavy rainfall occurred over much of northeast
Arkansas, the Missouri bootheel, and northwest Tennessee today. Up
to five inches of rain has fallen over much of the area, resulting
in swollen local rivers and creeks. Road and areal flooding will
continue to be an issue over the next few hours before the water
begins to recede.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Jonesboro, Paragould, Dyersburg, Blytheville, Kennett, Union City,
Ripley, Osceola, Pocahontas, Caruthersville, Walnut Ridge, Piggott,
Gosnell, Corning, Manila, Portageville, Hayti, Hoxie, Fulton and
Steele.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

... Forecast flooding increased from moderate to major severity...
the Flood Warning continues for
the Spring River at Imboden.
* Until late Tuesday night... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 12:45 PM Sunday the stage was 22.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 26.0 feet by
Monday morning.
* Impacts at 23.0 feet... some County roads and bridges may be
inundated.
* Impacts at 25.0 feet... water approaching structures and populated
areas of eastern Imboden.
* Impacts at 26.0 feet... water getting near housing project in eastern
Imboden, with locally heavy rainfall there may be some problems in
the housing project.

... Forecast flooding increased from moderate to major severity...
the Flood Warning continues for
the Black River at Black Rock.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 1:00 PM Sunday the stage was 25.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 29.5 feet by
late Monday.
* Impacts at 24.0 feet... thousands of acres of cropland and pastures
flooded. State Highway 37 in Independence County east of Cord may
be flooded. Water rises into low lying streets in Powhatan. Ball Park
and boat ramp area in Black Rock floods.
* Impacts at 25.0 feet... State Highway 37 will probably flood on west
side of Black River. State Highway 25 south of Black Rock and State
Highway 69 near Jacksonport may be partially flooded. Water will be
in portions of Powhatan State Park. Extensive cropland flooding,
flooding classified as moderate.
* Impacts at 28.5 feet... Highway 412 between Highway 63 and Walnut
Ridge becomes inundated by flood waters.
