Heat Advisory
Issued: 9:50 PM CDT Jul. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT Friday...

* event... hot and humid conditions will continue Friday with
afternoon temperatures climbing into the mid and upper 90s. When
combined with the humidity, heat indices will range from 105 to
109 degrees.

* Timing... heat indices of 105 degrees or higher can be expected
once again during the afternoon and early evening hours Friday.
Only limited cooling is expected tonight as temperatures fall
into the mid and upper 70s.

* Impact... heat related illnesses may be possible for those
outdoors in unshaded areas without proper precautions taken.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned
room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
