The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Flood Warning for
The Bayou des cannes near Eunice.
* From this afternoon to Tuesday evening... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 9:00 am Sunday the stage was 14.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast... The Bayou will rise above flood stage by late this
afternoon and continue to rise to near 17.0 feet by early Monday
afternoon. The Bayou will fall below flood stage by Tuesday early
afternoon.
* Impact... at stages near 16.0 feet... minor flooding begins along
The Bayou with a few structures right along The Bayou threatened.

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of central Louisiana...
south central Louisiana and southwest Louisiana... including
the following areas... in central Louisiana... Avoyelles...
Evangeline and St. Landry. In south central Louisiana...
Iberia... Lafayette and upper St. Martin. In southwest
Louisiana... Acadia and Vermilion.

* Through Monday afternoon

* an additional 2 to 5 inches of rainfall is possible in the
watch area through Monday afternoon. Locally higher amounts
are possible.

* Impacts include dangerous and potentially life threatening
flash flooding as well as elevated levels on area rivers and
streams.
