Special Statement
Issued: 1:46 PM MST Feb. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

A storm system will move through the area Thursday into Friday.
Rain is expected to develop Thursday, then turn to snow late
Thursday afternoon and continue Thursday night. The snow should
taper off and end Friday morning. There is potential for around
6 inches of snow to fall across northern Nebraska, with 2 to 5
inches across central and southwest Nebraska and into the
Panhandle. Stay tuned for further updates, as it is possible that
snow amounts and locations to receive the heaviest snow amounts
may change. Winds will be an issue with this snow event, as they
become strong and gusty from the north Thursday night into Friday.
Blowing and drifting snow is expected.
