Issued: 4:14 AM CST Jan. 16, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until midnight CST
tonight...

* hazard... freezing rain and snow.

* Timing and precipitation type... periods of freezing rain will
continue until a changeover to snow occurs this afternoon.

* Ice accumulations... a light glaze up to one-third of an inch.
Highest amounts will occur from Beaver City to Kearney to
Greeley.

* Snow accumulations... one to two inches.

* Winds... increasing to 10 to 20 mph from the north this afternoon
and evening... with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Impacts... dangerous travel conditions. Icy roads will result
in traffic accidents and slide-off's. Icy sidewalks and
parking lots could result in injuries from slipping and
falling. Broken tree limbs could damage power lines resulting
in isolated power outages... where icing amounts exceed
one-quarter inch.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
