Issued: 2:16 AM CST Feb. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Moderate to heavy snow...

At 206 am CST, Doppler radar indicated the leading edge of an area
of moderate to heavy snow along a line extending from 6 miles
north of Arcadia to near Callaway to near North Platte Airport.
The snow was nearly stationary.

Locations impacted include...
Broken Bow, Burwell, Stapleton, Taylor, Brewster, Arnold, Callaway,
Sargent, Merna, Anselmo, Dunning, Comstock, Berwyn, Halsey, Gandy,
Victoria Springs state Recreation Area, Weissert, Calamus Reservoir
state Recreation Area, North Platte Airport and Westerville.

Visibility will fall to 1/2 mile in heavy snow with snowfall rates
of 1 inch per hour. Winds gusting to 35 mph in open areas will
reduce visibility to 1/4 mile or less. Heavy drifting is underway
which could cause some roads to become blocked.

This snow is expected to slowly decrease in intensity through 6
am CST with light snow and flurries thereafter.

All of this snow was part of a major winter storm which has produced
6 to 14 inches of snow across parts of western and north central
Nebraska.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 183 between mile markers 92 and 144.
Highway 2 between mile markers 217 and 293.
Highway 92 between mile markers 220 and 273.
