Issued: 10:02 PM CST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until midnight CST
Friday night...

* timing... snow, occasionally moderate to heavy, will continue
overnight with light snow continuing through the day on Friday.

* Snow accumulations... snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches are
expected with locally higher amounts possible.

* Winds... northerly winds 20 to 30 mph gusting around 35 mph
will likely cause considerable blowing and drifting snow with
near blizzard conditions possible at times late tonight into
Friday evening.

* Impacts... reduced visibilities, with near whiteout conditions
will make travel eventually become very hazardous to nearly
impossible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food,
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
