Issued: 10:02 PM CST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 3 am Friday to
midnight CST Friday night...

* timing... a mix of rain, sleet and snow will become all snow
overnight. Snow is expected to continue through the day on
Friday ending during the afternoon.

* Snow accumulations... snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches are
expected with locally higher amounts possible.

* Winds... northerly winds 20 to 30 mph gusting around 35 mph
will likely cause considerable blowing and drifting snow with
near blizzard conditions possible at times late tonight into
Friday evening.

* Impacts... reduced visibilities, with whiteout conditions at
times will make travel eventually become very hazardous to
nearly impossible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food,
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
