Dense Fog Advisory
Issued: 11:52 PM CST Jan. 18, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Dense fog advisory in effect until 11 am MST /noon CST/
Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until 11 am MST /noon CST/
Thursday.

* Impacts... freezing fog will develop for some locations, creating
a glaze of ice on bridges and overpasses. Visibilities will fall
to a quarter mile, with rapidly changing visibilities likely on
the west edge of the dense fog, specifically the Highway 25
corridor.

* Timing/duration... quarter mile visibilities will gradually
spread across the advisory area tonight, with quarter mile
visibilities reaching a maximum extend by 6 am CST. Visibilities
will improve during the late morning, although some slight
reductions in visibility may linger until noon CST.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibility will frequently be one
quarter mile or less in fog. If driving... slow down and be
prepared for sudden drops in visibility... especially near
rivers... creeks and low lying areas. Use your headlights on low
beams and drive defensively.
