Special Weather Statement
Issued: Environment Canada
Special Weather Statement issued by Environment. 11:01 PM PDT Wednesday 26 April 2017.
Blizzard conditions with gusty winds and visibility frequently near zero in snow and blowing snow are expected or occurring.

A building ridge of high pressure over the Northwest Territories will combine with low pressure over the southern Yukon to generate very strong northeast winds near the Richardson Mountains. Winds of 80 km/h with gusts to 100 will continue producing blizzard conditions over the northern Dempster Highway.

Blizzard conditions will persist until this afternoon when winds begin to ease.

###

Travel is expected to be extremely hazardous due to reduced visibility.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.tempetepacifique-pacificstorm.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm in British Columbia and #YKStorm in Yukon.
