Watches & Warnings

Dense Fog Advisory
Issued: 5:07 PM CST Jan. 16, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Dense fog advisory now in effect until midnight CST tonight...

* timing... widespread dense fog will occur through early evening.
Areas of fog will likely linger through the evening... especially
over the Illinois River valley.

* Visibility... a quarter mile or less at times.

* Impacts... fluctuations in visibilities will cause hazardous
driving conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one half mile. If driving... slow down... use
your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
