Issued: 6:06 PM CDT Jul. 23, 2016 – National Weather Service

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT
Saturday for southeastern Winnebago... southern Boone and southwestern
McHenry counties...

At 600 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Radar rainfall estimates indicate
that between three and four inches of rain has fallen over portions
of the warned area... particularly within the area along the
Interstate 90 corridor from Cherry Valley to Rockford. Rainfall was
decreasing across the warning area as of 6 PM CDT... though
additional showers and thunderstorms are likely this evening.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rockford... Belvidere... Marengo... Rockford Airport... Cherry
Valley... Davis Junction and new Millford.

Including the following interstates...
I-39 between mile markers 115 and 123.
I-90 between mile markers 42 and 64.

This includes... Boone County Fairgrounds.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

At 703 PM CDT... Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Durand to 5
miles south of Freeport... and moving east at 35 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with these storms.

Rockford... Belvidere... Loves Park...
Machesney Park... South Beloit... Rockton...
Rockford Airport... Roscoe... Poplar Grove...
Cherry Valley... Winnebago... Pecatonica...
Durand... Capron... Timberlane...
Caledonia... Lake Summerset... Davis Junction...
