The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
east central Winnebago County in north central Illinois...

* until 815 PM CDT

* at 610 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain from a nearly
stationary storm will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in the
advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rockford... Loves Park... Machesney Park and Roscoe.

Additional rainfall of up to 1 inch is possible over the area. This
additional rain will lead to minor flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Do not attempt to travel
across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
