Issued: 7:01 PM CDT Mar. 30, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* urban and small stream flood advisory for rapid rises for...
Kendall County in northeastern Illinois...
La Salle County in north central Illinois...
DuPage County in northeastern Illinois...
Cook County in northeastern Illinois...
Boone County in north central Illinois...
Livingston County in central Illinois...
Lake County in northeastern Illinois...
Will County in northeastern Illinois...
Ogle County in north central Illinois...
Lee County in north central Illinois...
De Kalb County in north central Illinois...
Winnebago County in north central Illinois...
Grundy County in northeastern Illinois...
Kane County in northeastern Illinois...
McHenry County in northeastern Illinois...

* until midnight CDT

* at 657 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported heavy rain across
northern Illinois due to thunderstorms. This has caused urban and
small stream flooding, especially near streams and rivers and in
low lying areas with poor drainage. Over two inches of rain has
fallen. Additional light rain is expected this evening, but no
additional heavy rain is likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
