Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:50 AM CST Dec. 10, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 3 PM this afternoon to
6 PM CST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for accumulating snow... which is in effect from
3 PM this afternoon to 6 PM CST Sunday.

* Timing... expect snow to develop this afternoon and then
diminish by Sunday evening.

* Precipitation rates... the heaviest snowfall rates are expected
to occur tonight into Sunday morning.

* Snow accumulations... up to around an inch of snow is possible by
early this evening... followed by another 1 to 3 inches of snow
tonight... then an additional inch or two Sunday. The heaviest
totals are expected north over northern portions of LaSalle and
Grundy counties where storm totals of 3 to 6 inches are likely
by Sunday evening with 1 to 3 inches farther south.

* Visibilities... look for reduced visibilities during the heavier
snowfall... likely below a mile at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
The latest Road conditions for the state you are calling from can
be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
