... A Flood Warning for urban areas and small streams remains in
effect until 745 am CST for dupage... northwestern will and Cook
counties...

At 527 am CST... heavy rainfall has ended across the warned area
however runoff continues and area creeks and streams continue to
rise. One to two inches of rain fell overnight resulting in Urban
and Small Stream flooding. There were reports of flooded roadways in
Morton Grove... Des Plaines... and Naperville overnight. Motorists
should be alert for water on roadways.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Chicago, Aurora, Joliet, Naperville, Cicero, Arlington Heights,
Evanston, Schaumburg, Bolingbrook, Palatine, Skokie, Des Plaines,
Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Lawn, Berwyn, Mount Prospect, Wheaton,
Hoffman Estates and Oak Park.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Do not attempt to travel
across flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few
inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
