Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 11:40 AM MST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Friday afternoon...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northeast Montana, including the following areas,
central and southern valley, Dawson, Richland, and Sheridan.

* Through Friday afternoon.

* Ice is breaking up and flowing along many of the rivers and
streams across the region. This includes the Yellowstone river
in the Glendive and Sidney areas. New ice jams could still form
and bring quickly rising water levels.

* An ice jam on the milk river in the Glasgow area continues to
contribute to High River levels. Levels are now steady and are
not expected to reach flood stage yet.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
