Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 9:12 PM CST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon CST Friday...

* timing... snow, heavy at times tonight, will continue through
this evening.

* Accumulations... storm total snow accumulations averaging 5 to
10 inches are likely, with the heaviest amounts expected near
the Missouri River valley.

* Wind and visibility... winds will increase from the north
around 20 to 30 mph tonight and Friday, with gusts to near 35
mph at times. Visibility will be reduced to less than a half
mile at times, especially while snow is falling.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow means
severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring.
Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel
dangerous... and visibilities will be limited further due to
strong winds blowing snow around. Only travel in an emergency.
If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water
in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
