Special Weather Statement
Issued: 4:06 AM CDT Aug. 24, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Thunderstorms with heavy rain in eastern Wisconsin...

At 400 am CDT... radar indicated a large area of showers and
thunderstorms extending from northeast to southwest Wisconsin. The
strongest storms extended from near Sturgeon Bay... to Green
Bay... to Waupaca. Movement was northeast at 35 mph. Rainfalls of
up to 1.5 inches have occurred with the strongest storms.

Although the strongest storms will gradually weaken and shift off
to the northeast... periods of rain will linger in their wake. The
additional rainfall will continue to cause some ponding of water
in low spots on roadways and parking lots. Do not drive your
vehicle into standing water.

Lightning strikes could also lead to some power outages...
especially over the Door Peninsula.
