Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 10:11 PM CST Dec. 10, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until midnight CST
Sunday night...

* snow will continue tonight and Sunday.

* The heaviest snowfall rates will occur between 6 am and noon
Sunday.

* Snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches are expected.

* Hazardous travel conditions are likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities... and use extra caution while
driving. The latest Wisconsin Road conditions can be obtained by
calling 511.

Special Statement
Issued: 2:07 AM CST Dec. 11, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Snow expected overnight...

At 200 am, steady but mainly light snow continued to fall across
much of Wisconsin. The northern edge of the snow extended from
near Arbor Vitae, to Marinette, to Sister Bay. During the next few
hours, the northern edge of the snow band is likely to remain
nearly stationary or possibly sag southward a bit. A renewed
northward push is expected to begin an hour or two before
daybreak... with snow likely expanding across the remainder of
northern Wisconsin by shortly after daybreak.

Temperatures across the area were mainly in the teens, with some
single digit temperatures in northern Wisconsin. Readings will
likely edge up a couple degrees during the remainder of the night.

Given the rather cold temperatures, the snow will accumulate on
roads, leading to hazardous travel conditions. By daybreak,
snowfalls are expected to range from just a trace over the far
north near the Upper Michigan border, to 3 to 4 inches in the
Wisconsin Rapids, Wautoma, and Oshkosh areas.

Travel conditions are likely to deteriorate overnight as the snow
continues. If you are traveling tonight, use extra caution and be
sure to allow for extra travel time to reach your destination.
