Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 10:50 AM CST Jan. 16, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 3 PM this
afternoon to noon CST Tuesday...

* timing... expect a wintry mix of snow... sleet... and freezing
rain to develop mid-afternoon and then continue overnight. The
precipitation will diminish Tuesday morning.

* Snow and ice accumulations... freezing rain will result in a
glaze 1/10 to 2/10 of an inch thick on outdoor surfaces. A
total accumulation of sleet and snow of around an inch is
possible.

* Air temperatures are likely to warm to near or a little above
freezing overnight or Tuesday morning. This will lessen the
likelihood that significant a layer of ice will develop on
trees and power lines. But the ground will be much slower to
warm. As a result... ice is likely to continue to accrue on
untreated roads... sidewalks... and parking lots into Tuesday
morning.

* Impacts... the sleet and freezing rain will result in untreated
pavement becoming very slippery. Travel could become extremely
hazardous.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that mixed wintry precipitation
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads
and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving. The
latest Wisconsin Road conditions can be obtained by calling 511.
