* At 8:00 PM Thursday the stage was 18.3 feet... and steady.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Recent activity... the river is cresting now and expected to
begin falling Friday morning.
* Forecast... rise to 18.3 feet Friday morning... then begin falling.
* Impact... at 18.0 feet... water affects the Burlington auditorium
parking lot. Water also affects Bluff Harbor Marina. Water affects
North Shore Marina in Fort Madison. In Dallas City, water affects
first street at The Ball park.

* Until further notice.
* At 8:00 PM Thursday the stage was 12.9 feet... and steady.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Recent activity... the river is cresting now and expected to
begin falling Friday morning.
* Forecast... rise to 13.1 feet Friday morning... then begin falling.
Ice action may produce additional river level fluctuations
from the expected forecast over the next few days.

... Dense fog advisory remains in effect until 10 am CST Friday...

* timing... patchy fog will start developing after sunset but
will become more widespread after 9 PM.

* Impacts... visibilities under 1/4 mile at times in dense fog
will lead to dangerous driving conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced
to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down... use your
headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

As light rain ends... fog... locally dense with patchy drizzle will increase
across the region this evening. Visibilities of 2 miles to locally down
to around 1/2 mile or less will lower even further as the fog thickens
through this evening. Widespread areas of visibilities at to well below
a half mile are expected by late evening with a dense fog advisory in
effect later this evening. The combination of fog and wet roads can
be hazardous... and motorists should use extra caution and slow down
and drive defensively.
