Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 11:11 AM CST Dec. 9, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 2 PM Saturday to 6 PM
CST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow, which is in effect from 2 PM Saturday
to 6 PM CST Sunday.

* Timing... Saturday afternoon to the late afternoon Sunday.

* Storm total snow accumulations... a widespread swath of 3 to 6
inches is likely along and north of Highway 30 to the Minnesota
border. From Interstate 80 to around Highway 30 can expect 2 to
4 inches.

* Winds/visibility... southeast winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts to
25 mph are forecast Saturday afternoon into the evening.
Visibility restrictions of one to two miles are likely with less
than a mile at times possible. Winds diminish by Sunday morning
and lessen the potential for visibility restrictions.

* Impacts... the primary impacts will be hazardous travel
conditions due to reduced visibility and snow covered roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving.
