... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 10 am Sunday to 1 am
EST Monday...

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow which is in effect from 10 am Sunday to 1
am EST Monday.

Hazardous weather...

* heavy lake effect snow will continue over mainly the eastern half
of Alger County and far northern Luce County through this evening.

* Expect an additional 3 to 6 inches of snow through late this
evening... especially at Melstrand... Grand Marais... and Deer Park.
Isolated higher amounts will occur where snow bands persist.

* A low pressure system will bring 3 to 5 inches of snow Sunday
   into Sunday night.

Impacts...

* primary roads will be snow covered and slippery. Travel on
unplowed roads over eastern Alger County... especially near Grand
Marais will continue to be difficult.

* Visibilities will be reduced to less than one-quarter mile during
   the heavier snow showers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* a lake effect snow warning means significant amounts of lake-
effect snow are forecast that will make travel very hazardous
   or impossible.

* Prepare... plan... and stay informed. Visit www.Weather.Gov/MQT
