Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 11:28 AM EDT Jun. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
Isabella County in central Michigan...
Mecosta County in central Michigan...
northern Montcalm County in central Michigan...

* until 1130 PM EDT Friday

* 3 to 6 inches of rain has fallen since last evening. The heaviest
rain fell around Mount Pleasant, and central Michigan University
has closed for the day as several buildings on Campus took on
water.

* Rain has ended but the runoff will continue to result in high
water. There have been multiple reports of Road washouts, and more
are possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
