... Winter Storm Warning in effect from midnight tonight to 4 PM
EST Friday...

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a Winter
Storm Warning... which is in effect from midnight tonight to 4 PM
EST Friday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

Hazardous weather...

* snow showers will increase in coverage and intensity after
   midnight tonight.

* Snowfall totals of 8 to 10 inches are possible by Friday
   evening.

* Gusty west to northwest winds 15 to 30 mph will produce
   blowing and drifting snow.

* The heavy lake effect snow bands will cause abrupt changes in
   visibility with near whiteout conditions possible.

Impacts...

* roads will become snow covered and slippery for the Thursday
   morning commute and last through Friday.

* Commute times to destinations will become longer than normal.

* Visibilities could drop to near zero at times under the
   heavier bands and in blowing and drifting snow.
