The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
Monroe County in southeastern Michigan...

* until 1030 PM EDT

* at 725 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Monroe... Milan... Dundee... Carleton... Ida... Petersburg... Maybee...
Rockwood... South Rockwood... Estral Beach... Woodland Beach...
Azalia... Oakville... Scofield... Newport... Cone...
Stony Point and Detroit Beach.

The heaviest rainfall can be expected between Dundee and Maybee and
points north towards Milan. National Weather Service radar indicates
that pockets of rainfall in excess of one inch have fallen over the
past few hours. Additional heavy rain will also expand slowly east
into the area through 830 PM with additional amounts around one inch
possible in localized spots.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

At 743 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a
line extending from 6 miles southwest of Manchester to near Milan.
Movement was north at 10 mph.

Very heavy rainfall will be likely with some of these storms with
localized wind gusts to near 30 mph possible. These storms will be
monitored as they drift northward towards the I-94 corridor.
Additional flood advisories or warnings may be needed if the heavy
rainfall reaches areas where torrential rain fell earlier today.

Strong thunderstorms will be near...
Maybee around 750 PM EDT.
Milan around 755 PM EDT.
Manchester around 805 PM EDT.
Willis around 820 PM EDT.
Belleville around 835 PM EDT.
Ypsilanti around 845 PM EDT.
Dixboro around 855 PM EDT.
