* At 829 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that 3 to 5 inches of rain had fallen over much of the warned area
since Friday afternoon. Additional showers and thunderstorms will
continue through late tonight with the possibility of up to
another inch or two of rain in some areas. This may exacerbate
ongoing flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Indianapolis, Terre Haute, Crawfordsville, Carmel, Fishers,
Noblesville, Greenwood, Lawrence, Plainfield, Franklin, Brownsburg,
Greenfield, Lebanon, Beech Grove, Zionsville, Martinsville,
Speedway, Greencastle, Mooresville and Danville.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Sugar Creek at Crawfordsville.
* Until Tuesday afternoon.
* At 10:30 am Sunday the stage was 5.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tonight and continue to rise
to near 10.0 feet by tomorrow early afternoon. The river will fall
below flood stage by early Tuesday morning.
* At 10.0 feet... flooding is in progress along Sugar Creek.
Montgomery County Road 175 E, Rock River Ridge Road and other roads
are impassable. Flooding begins north of Sugar Creek along U.S.
231.

the Wabash River at Clinton.
* Until Sunday may 07.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is forecast to have a maximum value of 24.2
feet Tuesday early afternoon.
* At 24.0 feet... critical stage is reached on agricultural levees in
northern Vigo County. Extensive flooding of agricultural lands is
in progress. Flooding of low residential property in southeast
Clinton begins. Some high County roads are impassable. River Park
at Clinton is completely flooded. Old sr 63 north of Clinton
begins to flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Montezuma.
* Until Monday may 08.
* At 10:45 am Sunday the stage was 15.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 24.2 feet by
Tuesday evening. The river will fall below flood stage early Monday
morning.
* At 24.0 feet... floodwater is near the top of all agricultural
levees. Some County roads are impassable. High water isolates a
few rural residents. Basement flooding begins along Water Street
in Montezuma. Medusa aggregates company plant number 9 begins to
flood.

the Wabash River at Covington.
* From Monday morning to Monday may 08.
* At 10:45 am Sunday the stage was 10.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tomorrow late morning and
continue to rise to near 24.1 feet by Wednesday morning. The river
will fall below flood stage by Sunday afternoon.
* At 24.0 feet... basement flooding begins in 10 to 12 cottages. The
approach to New Bridge downstream of sr 28 in Attica floods.

the Wabash River at Lafayette.
* From late tonight until further notice.
* At 10:30 am Sunday the stage was 5.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early tomorrow and continue to
rise to near 18.1 feet by Tuesday early afternoon.
* At 18.0 feet... extensive flooding covers many acres of agricultural
land. State Road 225 closed by high water. Granville bridge public
access site flooded. Tippecanoe CR 950 W south of CR 75 S floods in
several places from the Wabash bottoms, janssen tract to Warren CR
350 N in the Black Rock preserve area, a distance of nearly 1.5
miles. High water affects fort ouiatenon area. All Parks in the
West Lafayette and Lafayette areas are flooded. High water almost
on North River Road.
