Watches & Warnings

Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 2:00 PM CDT Apr. 30, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Indiana and Kentucky, including the following
areas, in Indiana, Clark, Crawford, DuBois, Floyd, Harrison,
Jefferson, Orange, Perry, Scott, and Washington. In Kentucky,
Breckinridge, Hancock, Henry, Jefferson, Meade, Oldham, and
Trimble.

* Through Monday morning

* a very moist tropical airmass will remain over the region
through Monday morning ahead of a cold front. Showers and
thunderstorms will again impact the region, mainly late this afternoon
into the overnight hours. Many areas across southern Indiana
and north central Kentucky received several inches of rain
Friday night and Saturday morning, leaving the ground saturated
and not receptive to additional rainfall. 1 to 2 inches of
rainfall are possible in the Flash Flood Watch area, with
isolated higher amounts.

* If you encounter flooding while out on the roads, do not drive
into the floodwaters. Turn around, don't drown!

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
