northern Boone County in northern Kentucky...

* until 630 PM EDT.

* At 328 PM EDT, radar indicated that heavy rain had fallen across
the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.
Heavy rain continues to fall with another 1 to 2 inches possible.
Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flash flooding to
occur.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lawrenceburg, Greendale, Aurora, Rising Sun, bright, Hidden Valley,
Versailles, Milan, Osgood, Dillsboro, Shawnee, Moores Hill,
Guilford, Wilmington, Manchester, French, Hartford, Holton,
Rexville and Cold Springs.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* flood advisory for...
Ohio County in southeastern Indiana...
southern Ripley County in southeastern Indiana...
Dearborn County in southeastern Indiana...
northern Boone County in northern Kentucky...

* until 500 PM EDT.

* At 301 PM EDT, radar indicated an area of heavy rain moving slowly
across the warned area. Torrential rainfall rates from 1 to 2
inches per hour will cause urban and small stream flooding.

* Minor flooding of low-lying and poorly drained streets, highways
and underpasses will occur. In addition, farmland near creeks,
streams and drainage ditches will experience minor flooding.

Some locations that will experience minor flooding include...
Lawrenceburg, Greendale, Aurora, Rising Sun, bright, Hidden Valley,
Versailles, Milan, Osgood, Dillsboro, Moores Hill, Guilford,
Wilmington, Manchester, French, Hartford, Holton, Rexville, Cold
Springs and Farmers Retreat.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through late tonight...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, including the
following areas, in Indiana, Dearborn, Fayette in, Franklin
in, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union in, and Wayne. In
Kentucky, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant,
Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton, and Robertson. In Ohio,
Adams, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton,
Darke, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette OH, Franklin OH, Greene,
Hamilton, Highland, Hocking, Licking, Logan, Madison, Miami,
Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto, Shelby,
Union OH, and Warren.

* Through late tonight.

* A band of showers and thunderstorms has developed this morning,
and is forecasted to to slowly sag southeast this afternoon. A
widespread one to three inches of rain is expected today.
Isolated totals of three to four inches will be possible.
Showers and thunderstorms will come to an end late Friday night.

People in the watch area should keep an eye on the weather and be
prepared for immediate action should heavy rains and flooding
occur or a Flash Flood Warning be issued. Avoid low-lying areas,
and be careful when approaching Highway dips and underpasses.
