Issued: 8:40 PM EDT May. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Little River above Huntington
* until Tuesday morning.
* At 8 PM Sunday the stage was 12.5 feet and rising.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage Sunday evening and
crest near 18.7 feet around 12 am Monday may 29 and fall below
flood stage around 11 am Monday may 29.
* At 19.0 feet... at this level, many roads and bridges will be closed
and there will be extensive inundation and damage with many
evacuations.
* This crest compares to a previous crest of 18.4 feet which occurred
on Jun 17 2015.

* Flood Warning for...
Huntington County in northeastern Indiana...
Wells County in northeastern Indiana...
Adams County in northeastern Indiana...
Putnam County in west central Ohio...
southeastern Paulding County in west central Ohio...
Van Wert County in west central Ohio...
Allen County in west central Ohio...

* until 630 am EDT Monday

* at 634 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain which will cause flooding. One to three inches of rain
have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lima, Huntington, Van Wert, Bluffton, Decatur, Delphos, Ottawa,
Berne, Ossian, Paulding, Spencerville, Columbus Grove, Leipsic,
Elida, Cridersville, Kalida, Geneva, Pandora, Continental and
Andrews.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area. The ground in much of this area remains saturated from
recent heavy rainfall. Thunderstorm rain will produce large amounts
of runoff and likely cause significant flooding of small streams,
creeks and low lying areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
