... Patchy black ice possible across much of northern and eastern
Maine this morning...

Water from recent rain and melted snow has likely refrozen
overnight as temperatures have dropped near or below freezing.
This may result in patches of black ice, especially on untreated
roads, parking lots, and sidewalks. Any fresh snow that fell
overnight may cover the black ice, making it even harder to see.

Motorists should be careful when driving this morning and stay
alert for changing Road conditions. Surfaces that appear to be
just wet or snow covered may have a thin glaze of ice. Slow down
and leave plenty of room between you and the car in front of you.
