Issued: 9:26 PM PST Dec. 7, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 8 am Thursday to
4 PM PST Friday for the central Columbia River gorge... Hood River
Valley... and South Washington Cascades...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow remains in effect from 8 am
Thursday to 4 PM PST Friday.

* Timing... mid Thursday morning through Friday. The bulk of this
event will be snow. Some freezing rain or sleet will spread
into the western gorge Thursday night but the eastern sections
may not change over to mixed precipitation until Friday.

* Snow accumulations... 8 to 16 inches.

* Ice accumulations... around one tenth of an inch.

* Impacts... snow and ice will make travel extremely difficult
along the Highway 84 and 14 corridors... as well as in the South
Washington Cascades. Some power outages are likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
