Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 8:19 PM PDT Apr. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to
noon PDT Wednesday above 4500 feet...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow above 4500 feet... which is in effect
from midnight tonight to noon PDT Wednesday.

* Timing... late tonight through Wednesday morning. Heaviest
precipitation will occur early Wednesday morning.

* Snow level... around 4500 feet.

* Snow accumulations... 3 to 7 inches near santiam and Willamette
passes; mainly late tonight and early Wednesday morning. Heavier
accumulations will occur for the higher ski resort elevations,
where 8 to 12 inches of snow are expected. Heaviest totals are
likely to occur Mount Jefferson southward.

* Winds... west wind 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph on
higher, more exposed ridges.

* Impacts... Santiam Pass along Highway 20 and Willamette Pass
along Highway 58 are expected to become snowy later tonight
through Wednesday morning. Snow is expected to become
increasingly wet and slushy with the heating of the day
Wednesday, with sticking snow becoming more confined to the
higher ski resort elevations by midday Wednesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving.
