Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 3:23 PM EST Feb. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch remains in effect from 7 PM EST this evening
through Sunday evening...

The Flood Watch continues for

* all of northern New York, central and northern Vermont.

* From 7 PM EST this evening through Sunday evening.

* Minor to locally moderate flooding is possible due to the
combination of rapid snow melt and rainfall amounts between a
half and one inch. The flood threat will be highest on rivers
and streams where ice breakup occurs, primarily across northeast New
York and northern Vermont, especially north of U.S. Route 2.
Note that localized ice jam flooding could begin as early as
this evening, while the bulk of any freshwater flooding is
expected Saturday afternoon into Saturday night.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Special Statement
Issued: 12:24 AM EST Feb. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Areas of dense fog through the overnight hours...

Areas of very dense fog are occurring and will continue until a
warm front pushes north of the region this morning. Expect
visibilities of less than one quarter mile at times. Very low
visibilities will make driving hazardous across the north country.
If you must travel, slow down and leave plenty of distance ahead
of you.
